The previous owner seems to have plugged the stock inlet and the routed it to the inlet on this cat.

Here you can see the after market universal cat with the air injection inlet at the top.

As you can see it has long stopped doin what the previous owner intended it to do.

The air injection tube has been cut, the stock inlet shut, and has what appears to be a piece of heater hose attached to it.
