Purchased as retired equipment from Orange County Fire Authority from auction. picked up Feb. 2024. Since it weighs 16,00LBS empty, GVWR of 33,000, it is automatically classified as a commercial vehicle and not allowed to be registered in Commiefornia. So Immediately started a motorhome conversion process to appease CARB and the DMV. I have to fill out forms REG 256(?) at the DMV and then start the CARB motorhome process. I had to have at least 4 thing to prove "habitation." I put in a mattress, a sink, a fridge and a toilet. It took about 6-7 months to finally complete the process and get Motorhome plates and a motorhome title from the CA DMV, but I had to pay as $30/year smog fee to CARB since its so old of a diesel. |
