I was not planning on doing this upgrade so soon. The other day I was comming home and my diff on the rear of my Dakota broke the spider gear, so I put it in 4wd and started to go home and I drokr the spider gear in the frontend. I called my dad to pull me home, when I was almost home ,both of my axles came out of the reat at the same time slamming my ASS end on the ground. Get this, Carl, remember how I helped you get your GC off of that ledge at Red Creek, this is what I had to do to my truck, I lifted the rear of my Dak with my winch on the front of my CJ 5 and pushed my Dak to the house with a police escort Dude everyone was tripping out on what I did.
What came out good with this is that I was able to order a 2003 Dakota R/T rearend with Disc brakes and a 3.92 ratio w/ a posi unit. Found one with only 2200 miles on it. I am waith=ing for it to come in, it should be here sometime Sat., can't wait.

Man that sucks.. At least you where able to get it home.. Imagine if you had no winch..

Gonna get new front spiders as well..

Crazy how that happens.. A few burnouts and the stupid axles get week...

Let me know if you need help..

I am kinda full now but I will try to make time to help if you need it..

Yeah that would have sucked w/no winch. I changed the ratio from 3.55 to 3.92 and I disconnected the front driveshaft. I cleaned out the spiders from the front diff, and in Jan. I will change the front set of gears to 3.92. Carl, I appretiate the offer for helping, which anyone is welcome, I will start on it around 10:00 in the morning Sat. I have cases of Beer, but won't really have much to do until the rearend comes in, as I already pulled out the old rear. I think I will take off my body lift tomorrow, and put it back to stock height. Might also start painting stuff under the body just to make it look neater.

burnouts are about the worst thing you can do to an axle except maybe come flying out of a hole with the skinny pedal to the floor
