I had a great time at the mud drags on Sunday. The only problem is.... THERE WAS NO TECH INSPECTION!

The guy that won class 3 (The 36" and under class) had 38.5x11 boggers. I didn't realize it at the time because I thought he was the last truck to run in the 40" class. There was no announcement when one class ended and the next began.

How could this have happend? Was there anyone in charge of doing tech inspection?

Tires were supposed to be measured and then a number given out. I don't have anything to do with the races except racing and having a good time. I just put the word out so more people come and we get more publicity the pots will get bigger. I try to help them oout as much as I can.

I too am trying to promote this event as much as possible because I want it to grow! I spoke to the guy who won the class 3 with the 38.5x11 boggers and he told me that the tech guys measured his tires vertically. You're supposed to measure tires horizontally! When you measure them vertically a 44" tire could be measured as a 31" if it was flat. The guy simply let some air out of his 38.5's to make them measure 36" vertically.

Yea, I'm planning on leaving at 2pm on Saturday. Is there anyone else from Springfield interested in going as well?

We will be making the trip if it does not rain. I am pulling the orange rig up for S&S auto. Don't think the little jeep of mine stands a chance against those guys up there.

The Orange Jeep will do very well, but yea, you don't stand much of a chance up there. I run in the lowest STOCK class there is. Highest I placed last year was 4th. They changed the rules in my favor a little bit this year, so we'll see how it goes. What time are you guys planning on leaving? Maybe we'll form a convoy. Do the folks at S&S do any welding? I need to fabricate up some sort of hookup point on the rear of my truck, but don't have a welder.

yes they do anything. From go carts to semi's to mud rigs, to steam rollers. I also have a small welder at the house if you want to come by and use it I live behind Orielly's on Republic road. They are in clever and thats a little drive.
