I've been looking for some subtle exterior mods for my '01 CV LX. It's bone stock right now and has the usual bright work etc. I plan on keeping it that way...think it's classy looking. I do however wanna swap in a set of '03 or '04 Marquis side markers w/the cornering lights in them.
I was wondering if anyone knows how to wire the cornering light in so it's functional like on the Marquis?
Also, they look like they'd be a perfect match...anyone know if this is true or not? |

If you're still interested in this swap three months later, vonirkinshtine on CrownVic.net just finished this swap not too long ago. Grand Marquis corner lights on a 99 Crown Vic. Send him a message and see what he did. I believe he told me the biggest issue was mounting the housings themselves, as evident by the big gap on his. |

I've got the same idea except my CV is a 2003. What I'm trying to do is switch out the CV side marker light assembly for the MGM 2003 side marker assembly. Then I want to move the turn signal light from the front of the CV next to the headlight to the side marker assembly, as on the MGM. Then, I hope to put a set of Xenon lamps in front to replace the turn signal lights. These Xenon lights would be hooked up separately through their transformer to the battery and to a switch on the dash. This would provide driving lights and fog lights. If they are too bright or if I can't get them to focus correctly, I may apply a set of "headlight beam deflectors" like those used in Europe.
Now I'm concerned that my side marker assemblies are not a perfect match, although they do look identical. The MGM side marker assembly has an installation screw at the far end of the assembly, which the CV does not.
Any ideas or feedback on this project?
