Hi guys,

I've had my 2001 Crown Vic for about 3 months now and I love it. But I can't seem to find the factory code for the door key pad. The manual says it is taped to the computer module but nothing I can find says where the heck that is located. I looked under the dash to the left of the steering and I found a fuse box thing but no key code taped to it. I only got one key when I bought it and I manage to lock my keys in on occasion and would really love to avoid calling the locksmith.

Does anyone have an idea where else I can find the code? If its behind a panel then please explain how I open it or remove it...I am a clueless dumb blonde and need all the direction I can get =) Ok maybe not so dumb but I am when it comes to vehicles.

I tried calling a local dealer and was told they can't help me if I didn't purchase the car there. (that really ticked me off)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks =)

It will be in one of two places. Look in the owners manual on the front cover. If it is not there, open the trunk and look for a sticker on the left (driver's side) side hinge. The sticker will be 5 digits long. If neither of these work, you have to go to a Ford dealer and have them run the VIN to get the code. That is how it works with my Grand Marquis.

If the computer you are talking about is the engine computer, it is under the drivers side kick panel.
