Hi,

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I am a bit desperate right now and just trying to see if anyone could shed some light on this for me.

First off, I have absolutely no mechanical experience.. so that probably doesn't help.

But anyways, I own a 1987 Ford LTD Crown Victoria, it only has 51k original miles, so overall it's in good shape, but recently my power steering pump went out and I don't have the $500 to repair it just yet. In driving it while the pump was out, apparently it locked up and melted the serpentine belt off and is now immobile. I am trying to save up to get the pump fixed, but I was told that I can still get it to run (just very inconveniently without power steering) by getting an adjusted sized serpentine belt to exclude the power steering and just run everything else.

It doesn't seem like rocket science, but the issue I'm initially encountering is finding a diagram for this year model of how to reroute the belt. Is there a rule of thumb, if you will, for how to route it without the diagram (because I could not find one under the hood or in the original vehicle documents, and I didn't get to create one since the belt melted off prior to me realizing that I would need to do this..) or does anyone know how to route it or where I could find this info?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks,
Amber
