p71s come with resonators, if you get rid of those you will get the sound your looking for

Yeah man, I have a 2004 cvpi and I just put two supper 44's on and paid a bunch for that and not what I thought it would be either.. What exactly are resonators, and where are they located?

I heard that cvpi doesn't either have resonators or cataleptic converters??? Can't remember.

it has both catalytic converters and resonators, the cats are the roundish metal things by the back end near your mufflers, and the resonators are near the front of the care by the transmission (they look similar to the cats).

Just make sure you keep your cats, you need them to pass a state inspection.

I have a 07 p71 and all i did was cut off old mufflers and add two red glasspacks and 3 1/2 inch 10 inch long tips and it sounds like a mustang 4.6. granted its not going to be nice and loud like the 5.0 but its close. mine did not come with resonators.
