I know I have read this somewhere. Did someone replace there stock steering stabalizer with a new one, Ranco maybe. Since the search doesn't work I have gotten tired of looking through posts. I know you can buy the single or dual add-on but I would like to stay stock. None of the parts houses seem to have a number on file. Thanks in advance. Ricky

I had an extra rancho 5000 front shock and removed the stock stabalizer and it fit right in. The only modification I had to do was move the Ubolt clip over for the extra length. (Note: I had to notch the steeering bar to fit the up bolt clip around.)It works great.

I got a FOX stabilizer, works great. BTW, shocks are completley different than a stabalizer, you need a 50-50 valve, which shocks dont have. $147 is what i paid for it, its better than a pro-crap beater for 50 bucks but not the best out there. If you just want a factory replacement go with a rancho or whatever, they are all about the same. Unless you wanna sport for a Bilstein and rig up some brackets.

Summit Racing carries steering stabilizer shocks. I have a Pro Comp stabilizer shock.

Donahoe racing now sells a very slick dual steering stabilizer using Bilstein Nickle Plated 5100's.
Very eXpensive though!

rottndog,

Where can I order just the Donahoe dual steering stabilizer. I did a search and cannot find the stabilizer separate from a lift kit. Is this still one of the best out there? I need to order one this week to have it put on the same time I have the Rancho RS9000x shocks put on.

Thanks.

If I go with the Rancho RS5410 steering stabilizer that some recommended do I also need to order the bracket kit for my aftermarket guy to install the stabilizer?

And if I stay on the road is there any benefit to installing the dual version?

I just bought a Summit Racing house brand steering stabilizer that fits the stock brackets. It was a whopping $33. My former off-road life taught me that a single stabilizer is more than sufficient for on-road use. The Summit Racing stabiizer is a little beefier than the stock Ford unit, and actually does a very nice job.

Unfortunately I don't have info on the Rancho stabilizer. I didn't want to mess with brackets on mine.

Good luck! Roger

So what do you guys think of this Fabtech dual parallel mount? Would this work well (significantly better handling/control) on my 2003 X?

http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/W_stbzr_Fabtech.htm

It appears that this fits right on the existing OEM mounts.
