ART Update - 200 miles

I have the complete set installed on my 00 7.3 with about 200 miles on them. Stopping is much improved over the OE equipment. While I only have a 200 or so miles on them and have not really 'tested' them yet, I have noticed a much improved braking responce and feel. Now, if I get more than 25K miles per set I was gettting with the OE rotors I will be truly satisfied.

David, I have about 15k miles on my ART brakes and I am extremely happy with them. As Chris said, the stopping performance is noticeably better than original equipment. I have had zero problems with brake chatter or warped rotors. I don't drive the X hard, but I do occaisionally tow a trailer. Overall, it was a very wise investment.

I have about 40K on my ART brakes and completly happy with results.

Guys - Girls - pardon me. I have 44K on my Excursion with zero brake problems.

I don't understand. What is the issue and or problem? I want to be ready for this and do something before there is a problem.

Tell me more please.

Spartan, there are two issues. First, there are several aftermarket rotors & pads that give greatly improved stopping performance than the OEM. I happened to chose Applied Rotor Technology and I'm very pleased with the results. The second issue is warped rotors. A good number of the instances of warped rotors can be blamed on incorrectly torqued lug nuts. Ford changed the torque spec on these and provided owners with new stickers for the manual and the placard. I require anyone touching the lugs to torque by hand and then I check the result. I've never had the problem.

I have a 2003 V-10 X. I have found the brakes to be marginal for stopping the X. Spongy pedal is the other concern. I have installed Carbon Metallic pads all around and got great results. The next step is Stainless steel brake Lines.

I have noticed its been about 6 months since anyone has commented on the ART Rotors.
I am having the warping rotor symptoms on my 2000 X. I am thinking about ordering a set of ART Rotors. Are they still the best choice?

It's been a year and about 20k miles since I put ART brakes on my X. I am still very pleased with them. I sell and deliver firewood, so I pull a 9-10k pound trailer four or five days a week. I have not had any trouble with the ART brakes.

I just had ART rotors and pads installed today. I'm leaving on Saturday for a 14 day, 2000 mile trip. If you can wait that long, I'll give you my thoughts then.
