What is a nice sounding Exaust system for a V-10 EX? Not loud on the inside but nice and beefy on the outside! Not too pricey just right! COACH

Flowmaster, baby!

Listen to Monsta's V10!:

The 351 in my Bronco sounded like this with headers, true dual exhaust, and no mufflers:
http://www.superford.org/registry/vehicles/showmm.php?aType=1&mID=3 (this was a very loud setup, both inside the vehicle and out)

I run Flowmaster Series 40 (originals) on my '67 Galaxie as well, I love them. Great sound, there's nothing else like it.

I have tried a couple of mufflers. Magna flow 3" in/out using stock tail pipe. It did have a raspy low sound and not loud in the cab at all. I wanted a little more sound and I currently run a flowmaster 40 with duel out, with 4" tips. Its just right in the cab and sounds great outside. I suggest with any muffer you choose you have the shop try different tips to get the sound and tone you like.
My buddy at work on his X is running a flow master 70 3" in/out using the stock tail pipe and no tip. It has a really low growl. Not to lound in the cab.
The shop I used let me at no extra charge try 40 single, 40 double, 70 single, straight tube no muffer and flow master single chamber. Good luck

It is just a Flowmaster 40 put on in place of the stock muffler.

You may be able to do it yourself but the FM40 is considerably smaller than the stock muffler so you'll need to weld some extra pipe on it to get it to fit. If you can cut the old one off and weld up the new one easily in your garage then I you can DIY it!

I had it all welded up by a local custom exhaust place for $50 (I cannot weld good) and scored the muffler for FREE! from a user over at ford-trucks.com. (Black Rhino - awesome guy!)

It has a nice sound from the outside. I actually like to hear my wife drive away...especially when it hits about 3 grand!

I have two different exhaust systems, one is the flowmaster and the other is the bullit. The problem I have with the flowmaster is the resenence? The flowmaster is on my work truck, (98 gmc seirra 5.7L). If I stay at around 30 to 40 miles an hour it bothers the hell out of me. So someone metioned the bullit and I but it on the X. What a differents, the bullit is much more of a lower rumble and alot deeper sounding with out the resenence. I am going to change the gm to the bullit shortly.

Monsta, I`m happy to hear your wife and kids are ok, the X can be fixed, still sucks. A couple of months ago I was going over the Flowmaster sound charts and clips and your sound clip( which sounds great)I went with a suv 50 thinking the 40 was going to be to loud in the cab. Had it installed with a 4" chrome tip. Not to loud inside and a nice sound(for V10 harmonics)outside. So this morning (bored and a friend owns a shop)we slapped on a 40 series(2 chamber). I wanted alittle more rumble. The 40 is only slightly, and I mean slightly louder inside and not noticible outside. But I did notice a better throttle responce over the 3 chamber suv 50. Maybe next time I`ll turn down my sound on my computer and save some money. Go with the FlowMaster 40.
