Hi all,
I have 53K miles on my 2000 X 4x4 with the original OEM shocks.
It bucks pretty good while running down some of the uneven Dallas streets. By bucks I meen pitches fore and aft.
I can't really think of a time it didn't ride like this and always just wrote it off to the fact that its just a truck and thats the way I expected it to ride. If I wanted a smooth ride I'd have bought a Lexus!
Its not out of control like some have written, darting from side to side and such. It just bucks.
I assume the OEM shocks are not the best and was wondering if a new set of good shocks would help the bucking.
If so, what's a good brand of shock. Rancho, Bilsteins etc....
Thanks,
SRO2000X

I ran Rancho adjustable shocks. I liked them a lot.
Edlebrock IAS, Doetche Tech and Bilsteins are all good choices.
Heck, anything beats stock.

I like my Bilsteins. I can't compare them to anything else, but they seem to do the job. Don't expect a dramatic improvement in ride quality. New shocks will help, but it won't be like a new vehicle. Good luck and keep us updated.

Thanks all for the info,
I was not planning to go with an adjustable shock.
Am I correct that most of the aftermarket shocks you all are using are not adjustable?
Thanks,

We wasted no time in upgrading our shocks to the RS 9000X which we've been very happy with

Thanks for all the info.
I think I'll try the RS9000X and the Rancho steering stab.
Manual adjustment and upgradable to auto.
Cool!
Thanks,
