Wifey-Poo and I watched "The Italian Job" a few days ago and now she wants a Mini Cooper. She currently drives a 2001 VW New Beetle 1.8 Turbo, so the size will not change a lot. She thinks it is cute as a bugs ear. She also wants something that is different, that not everyone has. Beetles are starting to become too common.
Does anyone have any experience with these cars?

I guess I could just keep the Bug, get a Mini, and hang them one on each side of the X. Sort of like life boats. That way if the X broke down (not likely in my experience) I could lower one to the ground and go for help.

Quote: | Other than that, the only thing I know about them is that they are a death trap when matched up against any fullsize truck/SUV in a crash!! |

Hopefully, legislation will soon be passed requiring SUVS to conform to bumper-safety regulations - including height. Theres a reason suvs are not built 2 feet off the ground - so that other drivers are safer in case of a collision.
BTW, the Mini Cooper S is an absolute blast to drive. Steering feel, pedal feel, driver postion, etc - all perfect or near perfect! Only downside is the cheesy retro interior |

That reminds me of a term called "hoggin'" that some friends of mine used back in college. Now mind you, these "friends" were from South Dakota, but hogging would entail picking up the biggest girl in the bar they could find and bringing her home. The guy who brought home the biggest, won. Not sure what they won...maybe a pat on the back from their buddies. I never understood it but I always get a laugh out of it and the above message reminded me of it!
