OK, one more question. I test drove a 00 V10 limited and over certain bumps, perhaps more so when turning left, I occasionally heard a clunk which sounded like it was coming from the passenger side front. I was just wondering if this might be indicitative of the suspension or some other problem I might want to check out before purchasing.

The vehicle has 54K miles, is a 00 V10 Ltd. I didn't see any signs of body repair in or around the right front but I did notice some writing in black marker on the wheel mostly covered by the hub. I thought that was a little weird and wonder if it's a replacement wheel.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Jack,

The clunking sound you hear over bumps is one of two things (well, maybe both!):

- Loose body bolt. Simply have it tightened and the problem will go away. Pretty common on '00 X's.

- Front sway bar linkages need lubrication. Have them lubed and the problem will go away. Also pretty common on X's of all years.

Good luck with the decision.
