Hey Folks,
Does anyone have comments on Amsoil Synthetic products.
I need to do the tranny thing the next time I change oil, and I was considering going with all Amsoil synthetic products. Engine oil, tranny fluid, gear oil etc.
I know some oil filters are better than others out there also. Amsoil looks like it has a top performer.

Any thoughts and more specificly any comments from someone who uses it.
How about you gearman, any thoughts?

Amsoil ATF is a dual rated (Mercon, Mercon V) fluid. Ford specifically warns against the use of dual rated fluids for the 4R100 transmission.

Ford does recommend against it. However, I did it anyway. I just sold the X but at the time the tranny had over 20,000 miles with the synthetic fluid. The tranny ran cooler, shifted better (firmer) and I gained about 1MPG (but that was in combination with a change over to synthetic in the engine as well as going over the whole driveline and lubing it up properly.)

Never had a problem with the Amsoil and I've never heard anyone who uses it in the tranny have a problem either.
