My headlight switch just came off in my hand the other day. Does anyone know where I can buy just the knob from? It looks like this is all I need. The dealer says I have to buy the whole switch! @ $86.00. They said they do not have just the knob available for purchase....Anyone help??!! Thanks Coach

Call some local salvage yards...
although I would bet when the Ex is in a collision it wins most of the time...

OR try cross-referencing it to another truck... and find that one...
ford saves peenies by using the same part on multiple vehicles ALL the time...

They are also available from a Sterling (former Ford Heavy Truck (semi)) dealer. If you were local to me I could give you a handful of them. Our entire fleet has them. Good Luck.

The local dealer replaced my headlight switch knob under warranty so they must be available seperately. I'd suggest you try another dealer.

I called a couple more dealers. They are telling me that it was a recall. But, the catch was it was a limited recall.....Hell I don't know. On to the salvage yards

Hey neighbor! Don't forget to look for F250/F350/F450/F550 models in those salvage yards. Same switch ... at least it is according to my factory wiring diagram manual.

Super Duty and Excursion switches are not interchangeable. Excursion's housing is oval. SD are square.

Did you have the dealer run you VIN?

I wouldn't stop with a phone call. Nor would I buy one. Go see the Service MGR.

They are? That's odd FMC would do that. OK ... my bad. Thanks for setting me straight.

Yup!

A switch housing from an old style Expy or Explorer would work. Plus, you get the interior light defeat feature with those. Although, I don't know for certain if that feature works with the Excursion's wiring.

Although, if the defeat feature works interally in the switch, and doesn't switch a wire that the Excursion doesn't have, it should work okay.

Always wanted to try it but I wired my own defeat switch...
