Hi, I have 00 X, 4x4 PSD, with stock everything. I want to install EGT, boost and transmission gauges on the pillar. I am not sure where on the exhaust manifold I need to drill a hole to mount sensor for EGT, and where on the trans I need to drill hole for the trans sending unit. Can someone post a picture of these mounting location and instruction, and also instruction where to route the wiring for these sensors to go inside the cab? I do not like to drill hole on the firewall if I can avoid it.
What type or brand gauges do you recommend? If this had been discussed before sorry, I can not find it.

I'll try James...
there is an access hole in the firewall with 5 wires stubbed up on either end that is just for this purpose...
Whcih gauges is like asking boxers or briefs
look into the BD X-monitor for a small compact unit that want fill up your b-pillar...
I'm not sure about the 00 4 speed but in the 5 speed it is just a plug and play for the tranny,
others may be along to help, that's as far as I can take you

I have Isspro's and love them.
As for the pyro, you can easily drill the up-pipe to get closer to the turbo (turbo inlet temps)
The tranny should have a port on the drivers side that you'll just remove the plug and screw in a sending unit.
I cna't remember if I have a link to my pics on TDS from my sig over here. If not, try TDS and user name FamilyRide and look at my gallery. I have a few pics, and although mines a 6.0, it's very similar except that the up-pipe is much easier on the 7.3.

speaking of Gauges, Does anyone know of a digital gauge(s) that display egt, boost, and transmission temp? I would like one gauge that scrolls through all three, if one is made. I would like to try to put them where the dash cupholder is located (since anything in the cup holder goes immeditaly onto the dash) so keep that size in mind too.
Thanks |

How does this work? The company interested in installing my gauges is worried that the transmission will be the most expensive because they are worried they will need to drill. We did explore further and they believe they can tie into the transmission intercooler line but if you know of an easier way, I would appreciate it if you could provide any details. Thanks! |
