I was wondering if anyone has dual front/rear shocks on their stock set up?? If they do, where did you get them?? Im looking to upgrade my front springs also in a few months, and was wondering if that would help some more!! Any input would help!! Thanks everyone!!

i brought this question up a while back and basicly the response i got was thet it would make it ride much rougher then with single shock, which i understand, i ended up going with single pro comps and the ride has drasticly changed, although i did a ton of other mods, the dual shocks for may case were more for looks then function,

so it would actually be better if you got really good shocks instead of putting dual shocks?

Yes. Dual shocks will not soften the ride by any means. You really need them if you are thrashing your vehicle in offroad conditions where you risk bottoming out. A nice set of shocks all around will be much better and more cost effective.

Typically, dual front shocks were offered on older Ford trucks in the front ONLY. These were part of a towing package option. I started out with single shocks all around when I had my full-size Bronco. I added dual shocks to the front and all it really did was add additional expense for me when I wanted to swap out shocks! On a shorter wheel base vehicle, it made sense to have dual shocks up front to add some stability, but on an Excursion, with such a long wheel base and the weight of the vehicle, it is my opinion that you will be wasting your money on a dual shock setup that you will not get much use out of. It may look cool, but not really worth sacrificing functionality and ride quality.
