I was thinking about getting me a wench for my excursion. Could anybody give me a few ideas to what kind a wench would be able to even pull an Excursion if i were to get stuck when off roading. There is nothing more embarrasing then getting stuck in a lifted truck and having to get pulled out by a smaller car.

Maybe a winch would work better...I don't see a wench being able to pull something that heavy. Unless she's won the World's Strongest Woman competition!

Warn, Milemarker, and Ramsey I believe are the most well-known winches. I believe the general principal is that you want a winch that can pull 1.5 times the weight of your vehicle. This equates to 12,000 lbs. I'm not up on my winches, but I think they come in 10,000 lb and 15,000 lb capacities. A friend of mine who does a lot of wheeling has a 15,000 lb Warn winch on his vehicle and hasn't had any complaints.

Frankly, there is room for 7 wench's in my EX and there are accessorys for beverages and things so I'm thinking that perhaps its better to get more than one Wench since they tend to wear out. Its just a simple matter of making sure that the Wench's all have waranty and when the waranty runs out, that you replace them right away.

i've noticed if you get rid of the wench and you have created any accesories you have to keep paying on the little accesories for 18 years. |

I think the trick is not to get stuck with an accesories payment plan.
