...I recently got rid of the 35 X 12.5 BFG AT's I was running and mounted a new set of 295 75 16 Nitto AT's. I don't think it's so much the tire brand difference than it is the size difference, but the 295's offer a far superior ride and better highway handling. I posted a picture of the new version in my gallery if you want to see it. I highly reccomend the smaller tires for anyone interested in improving the comfort of your truck. Yes - I am getting old and have to use reading glasses now also.

FYI - I spent alot of time deciding on new tires and went with the Nittos on bang for the buck. So far I am pleased. We'll have to see if they will go 50,000 miles like a set of BFG's. The 295 75 16's are available as follows: BFG AT's, Nitto TG AT's and Toyo AT's. That's it so far. What I really wanted was a 295 85 16, but they don't exist.

2000 XLT Premium, V10, 4.3 LSD Rear, Edge 4.5" Hanger Lift, Landyot Radius Rods, Hellwig Sway Bar, Dual Bilsteins, 295 75 16 Nitto AT's, Billet Grill, Lengthened and Balanced Driveshaft, Hella 450's, Insulated AC Lines, Modified ZooDad, Husky Liners F to B.

I am thinking once the tires(Goodyear Wrangler at/s 305/70/16) wear out I will also go with Nitto's but in the same size tire that i run now.

Spartan,
Good choice, I have a buddy that has run them for a year or so and there holding up nicely. No cupping or funny wear...I really wouldn't said he's the try of guy that rotates them every 10 K either.

Enjoy.

Birdman - those 305's are where you are getting your mudflap contact from. The 295's would give you almost another inch of height and lose an inch in width. Probably would not rub though.
