The piston seal on my OEM steering stabilizer is starting to leak, piston has a nick on it from a rock it would appear. I need some recommendations on replacement. I have 33" tires (Revos) and like the way the dual setup from Skyjacker (model 7299) looks. Is the dual setup too much or does it make a difference? Since the OEM started to leak the driving experience is beginning to "suffer" from all the road feedback.

Any recommendations on replacements and dual vs single, even opinions and where to buy would be welcome. I have Rancho 9000s at the corners, but couldn't find a part number for the Ex for a stabilizer.

Thx

Eric

You should probably go with an aftermarket shock considering the larger tires you're running. I'm not sure if there's an advantage with dual-shock steering stabilizers and 33" tires. Maybe others can comment on this.

I have a ProComp steering stabilizer shock on my X in place of the single, OEM shock. Certainly much bigger and I've been satisfied with its performance. Sorry, no part number on hand.

I have the Skyjacker dual set up....I dont know if you really "need" to go duals with your 33" tires, but I will say it will LOOK better

If you are going to the trouble of removing the stock unit, and installing aftermarket, you might as well bump up the few extra dollars and install the dual stabilizers.

Joe,
Thanks for the reply, was that the 7299 model from SkyJacker? Did you notice any improvement or issues thus far on your 2004?
