I just came back from Florida this weekend and noticed something. I was passing another vehicle and when I tried to go over 95 MPH something in my Excursion would not allow it. I know that the truck was not out of power since I was accelerating quickly up to 95 MPH and then it would just abruptly quit exactly at 95 MPH.

Is there something wrong with my truck or is there a govenor (speed limiter)?

I saw this one Excursion that had a Turbo charged engine, soo does that mean that it will go faster? What would one do to an Excursion to make it go faster? I love excursions more than any other vehicle, but 95 mph. is not fast enough.

A: Buy a used 5.0L Mustang if you wanna go faster than 95MPH

B: Supercharger or Turbocharger will help the vehicle accellerate to 95 alot faster but past that speed would have to be tailored via programmer.

C: Keep the high speed racing of Superduties/Excursions on the dragstrip where the general public is safe please

Yep, there's a governer on these vehicles. Typically, an aftermarket chip will remove the governer. Only time I hit the governer on my X was trying to keep up with my father-in-law. Of all people to have a lead foot!!

Never had the Galaxie up that fast! 75 or 80 MPH at the max. It's a little scary at those speeds. The engine can handle it, but the rest of the car still needs a little work. The tires can't be rated for much more than 80 MPH, anyway. They look like little-bitty pizza cutters!
