My wife clipped a brick mail box tonight and the top mirror popped out and the bottom mirror has a crack in it. Can this bottom mirror be replaced, if so who carries this part and is better to just replace the whole mirror with a new style. Can the lighting and turn signals be integrated into the 2000 X that did not have this option? |

Go through www.1stfordparts.com the lower convex is about $44 or so and the upper glass is a couple dollars less.
Complete lighted/heated assemblies(pair) can run about $300 give or take a few.
The retrofit is pretty straight forward and I know of many that have done this upgrade.

Can you post a link to a thread that shows how to do it? I have a 2003 x that I'd like to switch also. |

As far I as know Ford sells the mirrors for the tow mirrors.
Try Ebay for tow mirrors. There are always different versions on there from brand new Ford mirrors to used mirrors to aftermarket mirrors.
Last year I found a set of brand new OEM Ford power heated telesoping tow mirrors for $152 shipped.

Stay with OEM assemblies if at all possible, the aftermarket China versions studs are too short most of the time and that would be a PIA when it comes to returns/refunds especially on Ebay.

Thanks, but you know what's really weird? I thought I replied to a thread about cab lights... ;-)
I guess I'm getting old in my old age... |
