The Federal Monroney window sticker on my new 2005 Excursion XLS claims that a HIDDEN ANTENNA is featured as standard equipment on this entry-level model. (I assume the XLT, EB, & LTD mat make the same claim.) But, in reality, as you can see in my media file elsewhere on this site, the vehicle was built with a fixed mast antenna.

Can anyone advise if they heave ever seen or heard about a HIDDEN ANTENNA on a late model Excursion?

Is it possible that they ran out of the parts (if the antenna was embedded in a windshield) and decided to build the units anyway with a mast antenna?

I noticed that the other two non-XLS 2005 Excursions at my dealer also have fixed mast antennae.

Welcome to the Excursion forums oldmanriver

Myself have not heard of any changes to the standard AM/FM mast antenna that comes on the Superduty/Excursions.

Perhaps a couple of the other members may have some info from the grapevine
