Ive got a Gibson with Turndown tips...they sit at a 45 out each side, its got a decent growl at idle, but at highway speeds its very moderate in the cab. Hope this helps bud!

We have a Gibson swept side. Sounds a little deeper, not much different in the cab. We notice it most when decelerating from highway speeds. Doesn't sound anything like an 8 though. Overall we believe it was a good purchase.

My Gibson is great and highly recommend it. Mine is the V8 and has a nice tone with minimal cab noise. Scott, you can meet up with me sometime if you want to see it .

Let hear it for the Gibson. Have their cat back. It lets you know somethings there, but doesn't get on your nerves.

While on the exhaust system subject, has anyone removed the catalytic converters on their truck? I think back to the late 70’s early 80’s everyone was cutting them off and getting an extra 5-7 MPG on their cars. I know the technology has changed, but is their a performance or MPG boost by replacing them with the straight pipe?
Now I am not expecting to get flamed by tree huggers with this question. After all this is a forum for the largest evil SUV we can lay our hands on.

Mine didn't come with one from the factory.

I am running stock cats and muffler on a 2003 V-10. Anyone try running without muffler(put in a straight pipe instead)but keep the cats. I have done this on Mustangs and its sounds good and not very loud(ie:wife even thought it was OK)).

I am looking at picking up some MPG's. I am building a smooth flowing "Y" pipe now.
