I am looking for brand name recommendations for a smoke colored dust deflector for my '05 Excursion XLS that does not require drilling for installation? Can anyone help?

If you don't drill mounting holes, how are they attached? I installed the color-matched Ford deflector on the back of mine. It came with templates that tell you exactly where to drill the holes.

You ordered it from Ford?

I discovered that EGR no longer makes their rear dust deflector, that required no drilling, for the Excursion.
You can find the picture of the genuine Ford authorized rear deflector on the ford.com website under the parts link. I have purchased the unit on eBay, but have yet to receive or install it.

I bought one (drilling required), looked at it and cowered away from it. I could bear neither the thought of having to wash the X by hand everytime nor the picture of going through the car wash and watching it get ripped off and splintering the fiberglass rear hatch. I figured some things just aren't worth it.

Yes, and it came pre-painted to match my deep wedgewood blue.

I like the fact that it fits very well, but it doesn't do much more than provide shade for the 3rd brakelight ... doesn't really keep the rear window any cleaner.

You actually use ... let alone trust ... automatic car-wash places? I haven't been in one of those in 20+ years. The thought of those dirty wipers slapping against my vehicle just gives me chills.
