As was mentioned in a previous post, I have some warped rotors. I had them turned once and it was fine for a while. I suspect a sticky caliper heating up the rotor . I just wanted to know the real fix as I will be replacing my brakes soon, including calipers and possibly rotors.
Thanks
Jesse

There's an OEM Ford brake caliper kit (I don't recall the correct name) for the 2000 or 2001 model Excursions which helps eliminate the hanging up prob the early calipers had.

Bill -- you have any more info on this kit (i.e. where to purchase)? I got a caliper issue too, as my brakes are pulling my X to the left when I mash on them. The warping is out of control now. I'll be getting the rotors turned again before the 4th of July weekend as I'm hauling 6 people + gear + a boat on a road trip.

I have the part number for the kit at home and will post it up Thursday morning. The kit is available from Ford Dealer Parts.
We'll be on the plane heading back to Texas from Phoenix at noon today

Here's the information on the calipers I promised Bill
Article No. 01-4-9 Publication Date: FEBRUARY 26, 2001
2000-2001 EXCURSION, SUPER DUTY F SERIES
BRAKES - FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD AND/OR CALIPER RATTLE OVER BUMPS - REVISED FRONT BRAKE PADS
NOISE - RATTLE FROM FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD AND/OR CALIPER - REVISED FRONT BRAKE PADS
ISSUE:
Some vehicles may exhibit a front brake pad or caliper rattle when going over bumps. This may be caused by the brake pads rattling in the calipers.
ACTION:
Install new front disc brake pads that have a pressure sensitive adhesive on the outside of both the inboard and outboard pads of the front calipers.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Raise and support the vehicle.
Remove the front wheel and tire assemblies.
Remove front disc brake caliper pin bolts.
Lift the brake caliper from the brake caliper anchor plate.
Remove the V-springs.
Remove the disc brake pads.
NOTE: DO NOT REUSE THE STAINLESS STEEL SHIM WHEN USING THE RATTLE FIX BRAKE PAD KIT.
Remove the plastic liner from both new Pads (1C3Z-2001-BA) exposing the adhesive, and install pads.
NOTE: THE BRAKE PAD WITH THE "EARS" GOES ON THE PISTON SIDE OF THE CALIPER.
Install the V-springs into the brake pads.
Install the disc brake caliper.
Install the disc brake caliper pin bolts. Torque to 56 N-m (42 lb-ft).
Install the wheel and tire assemblies. Torque to 200 N-m (148 lb-ft).
Lower the vehicle.
NOTE: PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES AFTER INSTALLING WHEELS BEFORE MOVING VEHICLE. THIS WILL ALLOW THE BRAKE PADS TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE ROTOR.
Verify front brake pad/caliper rattle is corrected.
