I want to paint part of my travel trailer the same color as the Lower Body Cladding on my 2003 XLT White Excursion. The Door Stcker only has the Body Color (YZ).

Anyone know the Ford Code for the "Platinum Color" of the lower Body Cladding??

My favorite paint store couldn't find it either.

If no one has it I will find someone with a color scanner!

Richard from my knowledge most paint codes on the White VIN decal will be a two-part code.

The first set of characters indicates the vehicles primary paint code in your case "YZ" and the second set of characters will indicate the accent body color code.

Can you snap a pic of your VIN decal and email it to me? I may be able to de-cipher the code for ya

Bill,

The second set of characters on the same line is RC- 47.

Thanks, Richard

The RC-47 is the vehicle region code.

Taking this image from Ford_Forgotton's site you'll observe Z1 for Oxford white and B5 is Harvest Gold Metallic.

If there is no second code post up a close-up picture of the primary paint and lower accent cladding for me to go from the paint list.

Yeah it appears that our Excursions don't have the second set of paint codes and I sent off an email to a friend at ford that may be able to help as we both have the same lower accent cladding.

I didn't know you had a 20th anny that's sweet! I just sold my two anny's

Bill,

It turns out that the RC is the paint code for the lower body cladding. Paint guy in Indy figured it out for me. Now have the paint I wanted for Travel Trailer trim.

Maybe Ford decided to save a penny by combining the Regional code and two tone paint code together

Otherwise as RC it's Ford Medium Platinum Metallic
