Just thought I'd report that around town, I am getting about 11 to 12 MPG, on the highway it is averaging 16 to 17 MPG, with the AC on pretty much constantly.
I was told that the 5.4L had the worst mileage of the three engines, but the mileage thread on the V10 seems to show worse mileage.
By the way, I changed wiper blades yesterday, and sure enough, the 24" Fronts and 18" Rear fit perfectly and work great.

At 85 MPH on a thousand mile trip I turned 14.5 MPG this summer and did the same in the spring. Abuquerque to Denver and Albuquerque to Vegas. Fully loaded with family and gear. 2000 5.4 4WD. I am very pleased. |

I've decided that Xochi was in cahoots with the gas stations to rid me of my bank account. I still and love her.

You guys are doing slightly better in town with your V8's than I am with the V10. Mind you, our "Ex" does very short trips on residential streets at less than 30 mph, and that's where she pulls about 9 to 9.5 mpg. On the freeway, at 75 mph, she'll nudge 16 to 16.2 mpg. Towing our 27' camper at 65mph, she'll manage about 10 mpg. Oh,we're talking about a 2004 with the 3.73 and 2wd. |
