Ok, this really bugs me about the Ex center console. The cup holders up front are very shallow and spill anything I put in them.

My F350 also has a center console that looks exactly the same, but the cup holders up front are much deeper.

Has anyone put an F350 cup holder piece in the Ex console? They look the same, but just wondering if anyone's tried it and had success.

Ford redesigned the cup holder in 2003 and made it deeper. Go to Ford and ask for 03 excursion front center cup holder

Must be an '00 thing because my '01 cupholders are deep enough to serve as a holster for my pocket piece.

I need deeper cup holders to hold the garbage, cell phone, and spare change that I keep in the front cup holders. I don't remember the last time they've been clean enough to hold any drinks!

Here is a picture of the older type and the newer deeper type console cut holders before I changed them out.

Speaking of places to put your "stuff" has anyone found a tray or something to set on the top of the center console? It's about the size of a shoe box lid but that would be way too tacky. Everything I set on it slides off. I know, it's slick but it seems GM figured out if you lay a piece of ribbed rubber on it with a short wall around it, things will stay put. I'm looking for an aftermarket tray of some sort. My digital camrea and binoculars don't like bouncing around.

Yep,
when I'm missing something I look on the floor right behind the console for what went flying on the last turn...

Not sure who decided that piece should be "humped up" so nothing would stay on it,
but to get around their design "Faux-Pa"
I bought a small tray that fits on the floor right in front of the console and holds MANY things...
even though it is on the floor, at least it's on the floor where I PLACED the stuff,
not where it landed when sliding off the console

If I recall, I got it at Pep Boys or Walmart - and it matches the interior carpet well....
