Anyone know what thread size the lug nuts are on our Excursions? I'm looking to get chrome or polished lug nuts and have no idea what I should go with for the thread size or overall length. Anyone with aftermarket wheels have an idea?

For 2000 to 2002 the thread should be M14 X 2.00 and the pattern 8 x 170 mm.

I recommend checking with your tire/wheel shop to verify my numbers Eric.

Bill,

I'll trust your expertise as I just ordered a new set of chrome lug nuts. If they don't fit, then they go back up on eBay!

I'm going to remove the "beauty rings" from my wheels and put on chrome lug nuts to see how it looks. I kind of like the look of the wheels without the beauty rings installed, but the black, open-ended OEM lug nuts have to go. We'll see what it looks like when they arrive.

I don't recall what they are on my '01, but the thread pitch did change at some point during production. Can't remember which year, either. It may already be too late for Eric, but one could take a single lug nut to an auto parts store and try them on various wheel studs ... or try the lug on various bolts at a good hardware store.

I bought 32 Gorilla locking lug nuts a couple years ago, and a spare key.

Here's what it ended up looking like:

BEFORE (w/o beauty caps/rings and OEM lug nuts):

AFTER (chrome lug nuts):

Looks Great! Torqued to 160-165?
