Was thinking of purchasing satellite with a sirus subscription. Have a stock 2002 6cd works fine. Does not have the satellite button i've seen on newer models. I have a couple of questions:
1. If you bought an add on where did you mount the unit.
2. If you bought a whole new head unit. What did you buy. I still want a 6 cd changer and have it compatible with the steering wheel controls.
3. How easy do aftermarkets head end units go into the stock opening. Does it look OK.
I already have an aftermarket DVD system that was in the car when I purchased it.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance - Kevin |

Kevin,
I have XM installed in my truck.... It is mounted under the bubby hole well within easy reach (also have a remote).... It worked GREAT with the factory radio (have since upgrade to a aftermarket radio)..... To access all satellite stations I have to put the radio on a "blank FM station, this is accomplished with the FM modulator... Once on that station, all satellite music comes piping right out of the stero, enjoy!!
PS: I have the following unit installed in my truck http://www.xmradio.com/skyfi/index.jsp
2003 Xcursion EB 6.0 diesel, AFE Stage 1 instake, AutoMeter Phantom Boost, EGT & Trans guages, Leveling Kit, BFGoodrich 315x75x16 on Weld Sidewinders, Eclipse radio & CD changer, Rockford amp & 12' subs, XM radio, 10.5 Mobile DVD video system |

I also have XM satellite Radio and have it piped into the CD6 via wired modulator but not for long as I'm going to upgrade the connection with an Auxiliary Input Adapter cable.
Here's my XM Receiver installed right next to the dash power point which leaves it unobstructed.
I'm also looking at upgrading to an aftermarket head unit to replace the stocker.

I also have XM using the Roady 2. I have it installed just below the cubby hole in the dash. The internal FM modulator works surprisingly well in the X, but I still use the cassette tape adaptor in town as Houston does not have that many free FM frequencies. I have the 2000 X with a TV/VCP installed that uses an FM modulator. No problems.
