Is there a way to take off the old tow mirror cover to replace it. I went to the dealer and they sold me a new cover, but I can not figure a way to get the old one off.

Thanks.

Do you have the 1st generation tow mirrors or the late model lighted ones?

The covers on the T-T mirrors (moose-ear style) are fairly easy to remove. Tilt the mirror-glass outboard as far as they will go. Then use a flashlight and a long flat-blade screwdriver to see behind the glass on the inboard side. You'll see two retaining clips that can be "popped" free with the screwdriver. Once those clips are free, tilt the cover outboard and pull the wiring connector at the cover-end (might be a tough pull, too).

I hope this agrees with the Adobe file sent by CHP.
