How have you all dealt with Ford in the past, or do you have any recommendations on how to handle them. I have changed out my Revo tires twice now with Firestone. Road Hazarded the first set, then a staight replacement less then a week later. Replaced one stock rim that may have been bent. Replaced U Joints. Replaced bushings on shocks. I also noted that it appears something like a ring or weight may have come off the front part of the drive shaft because there is a "footprint" around the shaft where something used to be. I still have a vibration at 60-65mph. It is very apparent. When I brought the vehicle to Ford a few days ago, I told them about the vibration, and then tried to tell all of the above. He just kind of looked at me like I had something growing out of my forehead. They finally tested it today and said the two rear wheels are out of round, but they dynamic balanced it, and forced balanced them, and the ride it 90% better. They wanted me to take it, but I said "no, I want to test drive it". They said just take it out for a drive, and I told them I wanted a maintenance supervisor to go with me. He felt it, I told him it did not change much from before the wheels were adjusted. He said he did not hear the tell tail wobble sound of an out of round tire. We noted that when I took my foot off the accelerator at 60-65mph, you could feel a vibration and shudder. Afer he conferred with the service rep, the service rep said he would keep it as an open ticket, and put tires and wheels from a new Ex to eliminate wheels. Now if wheels are not the issue, I do not think I should have to pay for all that since it was part of the process of trying to figure it out. What do you all think? ADVICE?!! TOM

Not to be silly, but did the check to see if the drive shaft was out of balance? I have a 4X2--don't know what you have--but I have had no problems. I have heard a few guys talk about drive shaft issues with vibration. If you feel it when you let off the gas--I would at least be suspicious. Also, sometimes the X will have an issue that , depending on the service tech, they don't understand and have to work through it--even though if they listened to you, it would save a hell of a lot of time. Mine was in the shop for 2 weeks--told them driver's floorboard upper body mount needed to be replaced. They just could not believe it was an upper. I got it back 2 weeks later AFTER they decided to replace the upper mount.

Good Luck!!

Thanks David. No it has not been balanced. Between having to do the Road Hazard on the tires, U joints, and a new cam for the ailignment we have dumped some $$$ into it. I suppose I am being cheap and am hoping they will find it and fix it via the warranty. I will probably end up spending to much in the end. TOM
