Well it took a die grinder cutting wheel, 2 headlamp bulb connectors, 4 bolts and j nuts and they are on! The 05 headlamps fit nicely once you hog out the headlamp buckets a bit. They are secured using the exhisting lower holes and upper(unused) holes. Check out the pics in my profile!

They claim they are brighter then previous styles. I have noticed they act like fog lights as they totally light up the ditch on both sides of the road. Im a ford tech so my cost on the them was 96.00 a side so they are probably around 160-180 a side customer cost. The updated connectors however were 22.00 a piece. If you want to buy them do it soon because they WILL go up in price. Only reason their as cheap as they are is because they are mostly being replaced only under warranty so ford doesnt want to charge themselves too much for them.

I just got the '05 headlights (putting them in a '02) and want to know if you can give a little more detail on your install. Where did you get the updated connectors? or can I just use the existing wiring and put into the new headlights? Are there any aftermarket bulbs that work better?

Thanks!

I too have notice the light pattern is different on the 05 models... It beams the light wider. Kinda like fog lights.... I don't really like it. But I do get alot of drivers flashing there headlights at me

I like the beam pattern! I just adjusted them up a bit and now think they are one of the better set of headlights in my stable of vehicles.

Gotta say, those lights look fantastic! Excellent job. I didn't know you could fit them onto the older trucks. But then again, it didn't sound like a simple swap. Great job.
