Welcome to the "X Files!"
I am running 305-70R-16 (load range E) Nitto tires on my 2001 4WD with no lift. The only rubbing I get is on the plastic splash panels on the aft side of the front fenderwells ... and then only when hitting a bump at full-lock, like entering my parking garage at work. You'll need to getter rims wider than the OEM 16x7. I bought a set of 16x8 rims on Ebay. Just be sure that whatever rim you end up buying has the same, or very similar backspacing. |

If you have stock rims, they are 16" diameter by 7" wide. The minimum specified width for the 305-70R-16 tires is 8". Some folks have put em' on 7" rims, but I think it's wise to stay within specifications. Some tire shops will not mount them on 7" rims for fear of lawsuits. |
