pulled into a Garland (Dallas suburb) running on fumes. Got exactly 10 gallons of diesel, and left the truck running while I pumped gas and paid at the pump. noticed the idle a little strange as I got back in, then it got worse before I even pulled out of the station. Ended up withing 30 seconds getting really bad and puffing white smoke so I pulled off to the side and shut it down.
The fuel residue in my filler tank neck smelled like gasoline, and the fuel I dribbled out of the pump I used did too. Station attendant and owner (he said) says he'd had no problems with the diesel since his delivery the morning prior. A call to Conoco says they do not own this station even though their name is all over it.
$300 later, with the towing bill, I'm back on the road, but the station now says they had their fuel checked and "no problem". Mr. "Hitesh" insists he will not pay for my repairs.
I saved the 10 gallons of strong gas smelling stuff, but looks like small claims court is in my future as after calling 5 state and federal agenciies.....no help for the taxpayer, as usual.

Sounds like the tank driver accidentally filled the Diesel storage with gasoline, that's not the first time thats happened
Friendly advice I share with others is never let your fuel level go below 1/4 tank as the fuel pickup will start drawing air bubbles which shortens Diesel fuel injectors lifespan and at a price of $200-250 a piece it can get expensive real quick.
