Just wondering how much restriction the catalytic converter on these things creates. Anyone have an opinion on pros/cons of eliminating it?

A bud a while back did some dyno and strip testing with and without the cat and found little or NO difference if properly installed...

And the $10,000 potential fine is a detterant to me, especially if I can still run 8.9 1/8th's in a HEAVY Excursion....

My 2001 Ex (bought used) did not have a Kitty. Did they have them on all later years? I don't know.

I did have the stock muffler removed for a straight pipe, and you can really hear the turbo whirring, just at idle.

When you romp it it's really LOUD.

It really does help the breathing when coupled with an upgraded intake system. I use the Tymar.
