Can anyone explain what the mod/delete of the "fume collector" and what the CCV Mod is all about?
I have seen photos of some rigs with the Fume Collector mod but dont know what it does. The fume collector looks pretty resrictive to air flow so maybe I can guess. What kind of gains are there to be had from this mod and what do you have to do to make it work.
The CCV mod I think I understand but where does the oil go? Does it drip out of the hose under the rig or has anyone set up small, vented tanks under the chassis?
Thanks in advance, Brian

Going thru the system, it seeps out onto the boots. So the gain is that you don't have the oily boots which some have blamed for the boots blowing out under boost. I vent it to the atmosphere. Some will have some sort of catch can. Venting it has 2 methods. You can vent it via a hose that blows the smoke out or have the exhaust suck it out

Brian I have my CCV modded to vent to atmosphere althoug many tree huggers would disagree to that method.
Here's an Article I assisted with

Many web site forums that I have seen move along pretty slowly. You ask a question and maybe get an answer. It is obvious on this site how the owners really care about their vehicles and how they care about helping the other members with their rigs. Thanks for all the help.

If you do the CCV mod make sure to run it to the rear of the truck or somehow contain it some way either a can or to the exhaust otherwise the whole underside of your truck will be coated with oil.
I'd rather be in the boat with a drink on the rocks then in the drink with the boat on the rocks.... But either way theres gonna be a good story!!! |

I couldn't agree more Brian, there's some other sites that'll flame a thread or go totally in another direction away from the original topic.
We're now among the owners of a unique vehicle that is no longer produced so we have to hang together and keep the information pipeline flowing
