I came out to a dead battery this morning. I guess I should buy a new one, since this is the original and is seven years old and 100K miles. But a new one won't fix this problem.

What I discovered is that the blower motor was running, even with the keys out of the ignition. If I turn the heater control to off BEFORE I shut off the truck, the blower shuts down. But if I don't turn the heater control to off, the blower will continue to function when the truck is off, regardless of what I do to the heater control. It did rain yesterday, so it's possible that there is a leak somewhere. But the windshield hasn't been touched in five years, so unlikely that it's leaking now. The only other symptopm is a sporadic loss of radio speakers. All radio/CD controls work properly, but the speakers will cut out for a few minutes and then come back.

I'd check my wiring diagrams, but they are at home. Anyone have any thoughts?

The vary same thing happened to me and after the dealer replaced the whole climate control unit and wiring harness, they decided it was a bad relay that controls the blower motor.

I hope that gives you another option!

Steve, that did the trick! Thank You!
Now, maybe I can get another seven years out of battery.

i too have the blower motor problem and it came this one I was told that in order to fix my blower motor that would only work on the highest setting I needed to purchase a Blower Motor Resistor, which is correct for Pathfinders that have a manual A/C system however on my pathfinder that has the Automatic A/C it is a whole different set of problems. I had alot of problems finding the blower resistor on my pathy because it doesn\\'t have one. any help on this one?
