Has anyone installed or thought about installing a PC in their X to run various multimedia components? What are your thoughts on this. To me it would be the ultimate system; radio, video, games, audio, nav and INTERNET!!! This would make a great travel vehicle. Just thinking about how to complete my Ex's makeover for family.
Thanks

The most we've done is realtime GPS thru the PC,a wireless card for internet,DVD's thru independent LCD monitors and Satellite Radio. Our family doesn't need much more than that

Y'all have all that in your trucks? Man! I have a hard enough time trying to explain to Mrs. Landyot how to operate the DVD player for her son while I'm driving. I don't wanna' be around y'all in traffic when you get to tinkering with all those gadgets. I don't even use (or own) a cell phone. |

You can do a search for "carputer" and it will bring you up with a couple of different companies that make one. Or you can peice one together from ebay doing the same type of search.
It would be small enough to fit under a back seat or in the center console, then it's a matter of hooking it up to a monitor or 2.

Getting ready to order the laptop mount from jottodesk.com
It rotates back and forth between the passenger and driver seat and provides a stable mount for other accessories. I can't wait to see what all I can do with this. |
