My trailer hitch on my X is starting to look a bit rusted on the surface. I can thank the winter salt baths here in the burbs of Chicago for that. I am sure the surface rust has no affect right now on the strength of the hitch, but it sure doesn't look to nice.
Any one painted there hitch on their X? Any suggestions? Hints? Paint manufacture? etc.... I don't have a sand blaster so I am assuming I will have to remove the surface rust with perhaps an ortibal sander with a wire brush attachment.

I wire brushed it an painted it with some gas grill paint I had laying around. I really only touched it up.
