My dad just bought a 2000 Limited Excursion that is all black (no tan on the bottom). I'm wondering if this was painted due to an accident. or was this an option in a 2000 Limited? It's a V10 4x4 if that matters. Thanks.

Didn't think the monochrome scheme came till later. Maybe the previous owner had it custom painted or got the cladding from someone.

Or had the cladding removed? I recall several posts about X-owners who removed their cladding parts versus doing a repaint.

Does it have black bumpers and a black grill, too? The all-black Excursion became available for the 2001 model year. I remember being bummed when I got my 2000 and the '01 had the all-black option.

Yeah but it's a Limited. They have Arizona Beige bumper cladding.

I haven't seen my dad's Excursion yet . I have to ask him about the grill and bumpers next time I talk to him. The reason I asked this question is because I've never seen an early model Excursion in the all black paint scheme. I bet it's been repainted for whatever reason. As soon as I see it I'll be able to tell. Thanks for the input.

one way you can really tell is is factory orange peel look effect. If a body has been repaired and repainted by a shop, take a good look at the paint, if its mirror type finish reflection, then it has been damaged at one point. But don't think its all bad,

Maybe the the previous owner had the cladding removed.

I've decided that Xochi was in cahoots with the gas stations to rid me of my bank account. I still and love her.
