Can't find any mention of this anywhere else, so gotta drop it in the middle of the room and see what I find out... The "flaps" on the reat seats (which fold down to create a solid "floor" when the seats are folded flat) are held in place with velcro which only holds about 5 minutes once the seats are upright and the flaps are put in place. What dunce puts velcro restraints on a piece of seating in a truck?!?! I don't get it? It seems laughable!
Anyway... are there any ideas out there for replacing the velcro, or substitutes that really do hold those flaps up against the back of the seat where they belong?
Thanks!

We discussed the same thing when we took delivery of our X in 2002. I think an alternative would be the chrome metal snaps that are used for like the canvas bed covers, grille cover/screens,etc.
I'll have to check the seat back if the snaps could be supported/installed.
Good to hear from you again John!

I took mine off. Never fold the seats down anyway....that's what I got a pickup for.

Use mine all the time... i've got a furniture store, and that cavern back there is about like a cargo van. Use it a couple times a week for cargo. But, evenings and weekends all the kids, folks, etc. pack into it. These things flop down on their legs in the back way too much.
Maybe just a heckuva lot more velcro'd do it... Like those shows where the guy wraps up in it and jumps onto a wall!
Something mechanical's probably a better bet though... |

I had that problem when I bought my used '05. A local auto upholstery shop fixed it for about $40. No, they did not replace the velcro, but merely "adjusted" the straps to where they would hold. Haven't had a problem since, and I fold the second row seat down once or twice per month. |

Upholstery shop is a good idea...
and You can get replacement velcro at like home depot, etc...
I have a roll of it in the garage...
sometimes just cleaning the old velcro to ensure no pet hair, dirt, etc... is defeating the hook and loop of the velcro helps a lot...
