I currently run the Edge Evolution programmer in Level 1 mode on my Excursion. I have read the following about programmers on why they perhaps aren't good for the transmission.
"FTVB is tuned for the chip to leave all transmission settings at
stock, if the chip does this it works great, or you can have your
tuner return all shift timing and line pressure settings to factory
stock, it will work with the elevated line pressure, but using
software to control shift duration is bad for the pump and I don't
recommend it."
I have read in a lot of diesel forums that people like the BTS over the Factory tech valve body. I was told if I order the BTS from /www.brianstruckshop.com that they could set it up so it would work with the edge evolution programmer. Where the factory tech valve body shouldn't be run with a programmer or a chip. Anyone have any thoughts or feedback?

The FTVB not being used with a programmer or chip is clearly news to me. There's was chatter on the forums about how the BTS valve body was possibly an FTVB so I don't know

The Edge Evolution Programmer does not change the line presure setting on on level1 (TOW). It only changes them on Levle 2 (RACE) and Level 3 (EXtreme).
That all you do is run tow, you should be OK but you need to watch the torque converter. It is harder on the torque converter and they tend to fail. I lost mine while a friend borrowed it and had the transmission rebuilt with a F-550 dueal clkutch converter and modified valve body. I am about to switch to the 6.0 Liter Tranmny cooler and a PML pan with Royal Purple MAX-ATF just to ensure the tranny stays cool, especilly if I start towing the Porsche to the track events like I am thinking about.
