I've got an '03 5.4l XLT. The outside rear view mirrors have blinkers but not driving lights. I've had the truck three years and the driving lights have never worked, and i always figured they weren't supposed to. Should this model have driving lights if the blinkers work?

I haven't figured how to pop'em open to look inside, and there's nothing in the manual...

Thanks...

Yup - those look just like mine.

I'm just not sure if there was an option for blinkers only and another option for blinkers and drive lights...

The big tow mirrors did not come with blinkers on 2003 models. My wife's 03 has the tow mirrors but no blinkers. They were added in 2005 or 2004.

It didn't come with those mirrors in 2003. Someone added them later, but there's no wiring for them.

That's true, but the wiring CAN be added. When I installed the lighted tow mirrors on my '01, I had to add a wire from the headlight switch to feed each of the forward-facing parking lights in the mirrors.

Wouldn't you want to switch them off the parking light?

Oh wait...I see what you're saying...
