I just got back from a trip to the Beach in the X and I noticed that if I am driving over 70-75 MPH I get this vibration not in the wheel but an overall vibration throughout the body? I have no idea what it is. It does not do it at the same speed when I am going up a hill and the engine is pulling more though.
The ball jonts were replaced recently, the tires rotated and ballanced and at the right pressure.
Anyone have a clue?
Thanks

Have you looked at this thread?

We have a lot of problems with ours too! It's funny though most people never say anything about the "Hum"?

Thanks for the thread links I have read through them and some others>
I have also spoken to some of the members via e-mail but I can't find someone who has a definitive solution.
Anyone have this problem resolved.
Thanks

Update on the vibration at speeds over 70 MPH.
I had the original non Ford mechanic look at it and he remembered that we had put balancers in the wheels as these oversize wheels were hard to balance. They took them out and cleaned each one and we just got back from a trip to Western North Carolina through the Eastern continental divide. The noise is gone?? I was skeptical at first that it could be that simple after reading all of the posts about transmisions, pinion gears etc. but was definitely releaved as this only cost 90 bucks.
By the way the Banks brake kit was awesome coming back home down the mountain.
