Hello all!

Last night my husband and I decided to take over the payments on a friend's 2000 Excursion Limited. I didn't ask too many questions so I dont know alot but I am assuming he bought it used or else there wouldn't still be payments to make. There is a year left and the payments are about $400/month.

I overheard the friend saying that they put some aftermarket muffler on it. To me it just makes it noisy. I like a quiet ride. There is also a speaker box, amp, DVD player and flip down screen.

The friend also mentioned to me that it was a V-10 and we would have no problem towing our pop-up camper with it.

Sooooo I guess my question is...what should I know about this big green beasty? I'm thinking of calling her Gigantor.

Welcome to the club, your going to love your Ex, its a great choice, not to mention that it is the last of its kind, here is something that I recomend... FIRST off, take the luggage rack cross bars off the roof, they touch the paint on the roof and wear it off till its bear metal, and then you get rust. other then that, I can only say drive it, and love it.. this is my second, and I cant imagine me wanting any other full size SUV.. post some pics of your "gigantor"

It really is all about size!!!!!!

You can quiet it down by going back to the stock exhaust. call up www.ftepartsguy.com and he'll get you the full exhaust (muffler & tailpipe) for less than $300. He's in Las Vegas so shipping should be cheap to TX.

Make sure you have E-rated tires on it and keep them aired up to around 50 front / 60 rear. That's a bit more than he recommended and you can even go up a bit more depending on load.

Use Motorcraft 5W-20 or 5W-30 oil and Motorcraft's FL820S oil filter. Both can be had at Wal-Mart.

Your truck will make short work of towing your pop-up. You probably won't even realize it's back there.
