Seems my passenger side pin does not slide in and out.
I did a brake job many months ago and even with the few trips i have taken they had a tendency to screetch
Took everything apart today and found the caliper would not move side to side.
What gives? any 'fixes'?
Thanks
oh, and on a new side note while typing this up i just realized in my haste to put it back together I forgot the 2 little 'wishbone' connectors on the back of the pads
Is this a necissity? I have a 450 mile boat tow starting at 6am
UPDATE!!!
I woke at 5am and went out, took the front brakes apart and put in the Vsprings
They were laying on the garage floor right were I left them
Brakes are much quieter now! |

I also just did the brakes on our Excursion. I dipped each of the caliper bolt stems into lithium grease then while turning(to get an even coating)into the calipers.
Don't forget the V springs as they aid in preventing the pads from riding the rotors.
Since my rotors at 70k were like new I roughed em up with a drill and wire wheel crosshatch style and also lightly sanded the pad surfaces so then mate up with the rotors nicely.
We flushed the old brake fluid out with new synthetic fluid and bled it to make sure no bubbles were trapped in the lines.
Talk about brakes!

all I can say is that I have all kinds of brake problems on mine, but I am working them out one by one, I think I need to switch to the slotted and drilled rotors..
It really is all about size!!!!!! |
