Thought I'd post a new topic and ask the following:

How many miles do you have on your Excursion?

How many miles do you have on your transmission?

Total miles: 203,000+
Transmission miles: 116,000 (first one died at 87,000)

2000 v10

103000
I have owned this truck since May of 2003
Bought it with 87,000
Thinking my cost per mile is sky high!!!!

I am having an issue that needs to be looked at, getting error codes P0720--Speed sensor.
This stinks because it only happens when first driving the truck out of the garage.
and last year there was some vibration happening that I have not remmedied.
However the truck has only been drivin three times in 7 months for a total of less then 50 miles

02 X 7,3L bought with 25K on clock now 168,xxx original tranny! Bone stock truck, I did add the aftermaket tranny filter kit from the diesel site and the coolant filter. Heck I just replace the OE water pump, lol. The key is to do the service if you ask me.

How is that possible? Did you remove your original tranny for a while??

I assumed he meant original 80,000 then replaced the trans and now has 103,000
meaning 23,000 on the rebuild??

2001 Limited V10 2WD

121K
78k 1st tranny
43K 2nd

1st one gave no problem or warning. Son and I driving back from a Bowl game and pulled off at an exit to feed the beast. When I stopped and then started off, it sounded like someone had thrown rocks in the tranny. It would jump the bad gear into 3rd and up so we drove 220 miles with no stops with the tranny quiet as a mouse. I went directly to the Ford dealer and had to stop 2X--God what a noise. Anyway the mechanic showed me--I think the 1st gear--it had a hairline crack halfway through and the teeth started shearing off when it started flexing I guess. I was impressed that it would jump to the next gear and got us home without a 220 mile tow job. Thank heavens I bought the extended warranty.
